☀️ — The Solar Sail Reactor

By using the solar sail principle (see here) we can create a solar reactor by concentrating the photonic stream into a hollow cone toward a unique point.

The following schema shows you how it could be done, the idea is from late 2023.

Technically, the photonic stream collapse into the sail and provoke a thrust phenomenon. In the same time, it is reflected and redirected into the hollow cone to be condensed toward a unique point — and then spread in the desired direction through a dedicated 3D tiller (see boat's documentation).

➠ Note about deceleration

By the way, through this design it is possible to create a decelerating thrust by reorganizing the cupola's borders toward the exterior : meaning inverse the ending dome to have its borders in the movement direction, thus reverse the thrust too.

➠ Note about debris shield

This design is optimal to get the ships' head protected from micro-meteoroids on its trajectory in space or inter-galactic space. Let alone technical constraints from the decelerating part, the back of the cupola might receive a specific coating, or be protected by lasers (see the [JB] concept @20f6bd).
