The idea here is to guide up your emotional state through music to relieve stress, anger or anxious emotional state as well as sadness or punctual depressiveness. This technique can be practiced alone as a self-treatment.

The quoted study continuum above give us clues and evidences of style of music and emotional effects as well as BPM related effect on cardiovascular cycles (heartbeat).
To explain the idea simply, the goal is to create a "style-BPM" tunnel with high BPM music style at the start going to low BPM music style of your preference at the end, to guide up your strong feeling to more soothed one. From practice, you'll learn to pick up tracks, styles and BPM to your own convenience to produce the desired effects. Depending on the time you have, a session can last from 10 to 30 minutes or more, until you are in peace again.
